Fleet Feet Sports Training Programs

We offer training programs for everyone, from the beginner to the endurance athlete!  Fleet Feet Sports Madison is committed to enhancing and growing our local running and walking communities, and offering educational resources and training opportunities to assist participants in achieving their fitness goals. We strive to give every training participant a positive experience and to help them finish happy, healthy, educated, and uninjured.

You can choose to join us for one of our free group social fun runs, or try one of our professionally coached training programs with a guest pass

Program Start: Saturday, September 17, 2016
Program Schedule: Wednesdays 6:00pm | Saturdays 8:00am
Goal Race: Jingle Bell Run Madison
Program Fee: Early Bird Registration: $99 (until August 29 ) Regular Registration: $109 (August 30 – Sept 12) Late Registration: $119 (Sept 13 and after)
Description: Whether you’re looking for a routine that fits into your daily life, or you just need a little more accountability to keep you motivated - you’ve found it with No Boundaries. We provide different training plans for walking, interval running, and running so there is a group to fit your level. Each coached group workout will include some circuit training with modifications as needed) and stretching to help you get stronger and prevent injuries. Choose walk, run/walk, or run when you register and we can always adjust it during the program. The training program only requires you to run or walk 3x/week – 2x with us! You can commit to this training plan even with a busy schedule!

Program Schedule: GROUP RUNS: Wednesdays – 6:00PM | Sundays – 7:00AM
Goal Race: Zoo Run Run
Program Fee: Early Bird Registration: $59 (until June 27) Regular Registration: $69 (June 28 – July 11) Late Registration: $79 (July 12 and after)
Description: Join Fleet Feet Sports owner Jessica Anderson to train for the Zoo Run in support of the Henry Vilas Zoo! Whether you want to train for your first 5K or you are trying to improve your 10K, this is the program for you. All programs will provide challenging workouts whether you choose completion or performance.

Half & Full Marathon Training More Info »

Program Start: Sat November 19, 2016
Program Schedule: Saturday mornings 8AM – long run Wednesday and/or Thursday Night Group Runs
Goal Race: Austin Marathon & Half Marathon
Program Fee: Early Bird Discount: $89 (until November 1, 2016) Regular: $99 (November 2, 2016 – November 14, 2016) Late Registration: $109 (November 15, 2016 and after)
Description: You will have the option of 4 training plans. - Half Marathon Completion Plan- Half Marathon Performance Plan- Full Marathon Completion Plan- Full Marathon Performance Plan Group Runs: Coached and supported group runs will take place on SATURDAY mornings at 8AM at varied locations around the Madison area. We encourage all participants to also take part in weekly fun runs for mid-week mileage. This will give you multiple options to get your runs in with a group mid-week (the key to success in winter running!). Wednesday night fun runs @ 6pm – meet at FFS Madison and FFS Sun Prairie Thursday night fun runs @ 6pm – rotating pubs around Madison – west and east locations available

SpeedPLAY Training More Info »

Program Start: Tuesday August 9, 2016
Program Schedule: Tuesday Evenings, 6:00pm East 6:30pm West
Program Fee: Fall Block: $70
Description: Don't let the name scare you, SpeedPLAY is not just for “fast” runners, it is open to anyone who wants to work on becoming more efficient while challenging their current running pace. Speed work is an important part of any training routine. Speed work doesn’t just make you run faster. It makes you fitter, increases the range of movement in your joints, makes you more comfortable at all speeds, and it will ultimately help you to run harder for longer. These sessions have been carefully designed to be beneficial to those who specialize in any distance and can be utilized by many levels of runners. In addition, interval type training is one of the most efficient ways to burn calories!

Speed Camp-Youth More Info »

Program Start: Summer 2016
Program Schedule: Tuesday Evenings, 7:00pm
Program Fee: $55
Description: This is a great program that not only promotes exercise and the sport of running, but also the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Workouts will vary week to week and will include some running on the track, and some strength/mobility movements and games. Each workout can be modified to meet and challenge each runner's abilities and goals.

Program Start: Sunday January 3, 2016
Program Schedule: Coached and supported group runs on SUNDAY mornings @ 8:30am at both Fleet Feet Sports locations (Madison & Sun Prairie)
Program Fee: Early Bird $49 (until Dec. 14, 2015), Regular Rate $59 (Dec. 15 - Dec. 28), Late Registration $69 (Dec. 29 and after)
Description: Choose a group that best fits current fitness level and focus: Walk: Goal is to be consistent with walking 3-4 times per week, get the heart rate up by power walking, or start out walking and ease into running when ready Walk/Run: Goal is to become better at running for longer durations and get the heart rate up utilizing walk/run intervals, and/or aid in training for a future goal race. You may decide to switch to run group as you progress. Run: Goal is to stay consistent with Winter Running, run for longer durations, run at higher intensities, and/or aid in training for a future goal race.

Program Schedule: Every Wednesday Evening Group Runs & Every Thursday Evening Pub Runs
Program Fee: Free
Description: Free Wednesday Run or Walk- Every week meet at either Fleet Feet Sports Madison or Sun Prairie @6:00pm for a 3 to 5 mile group run/walk--Excellent for beginner runners. All paces welcome. Free Thursday Night Pub Run - Most weeks we start at or near a local Pub for up to 5 miles followed by food, drink and socializing. The runs will start at 6:00pm and are listed approximately one month in advance on our website and published on our social media pages. All paces are welcome.

Description: New Balance Good Form Running (GFR I) is a simple process of training that has the ultimate goal of running faster, more efficiently, and injury free. With a focus on proper mechanics, GOOD FORM RUNNING aims to help runners of all ages and abilities achieve these goals. Good Form Running is free and is beneficial to beginner runners up to endurance runners.
