Show off your fancy red running clothes and join Fleet Feet Sports Madison and Team 242 at the Red Dress Dash on February 21st! Heart Disease is the number 1 killer of women-more deadly than all forms of cancer combined yet only 1 in 5 women believe that heart disease is her greatest health threat. This is why we are going red for women!
Put on your red dress (yes, this means guys, too) for a 5K run or 1.4 mile walk from Fleet Feet Madison on Thursday, February, 21st at 6pm. Make a minimum $5 donation at the start-100% of the donations will go to the American Heart Association. If you are wearing no red at all, you will be required to make another $5 donation-it's Madison, you have to have some red in your wardrobe! After the run, stick around the store for some snacks and refreshments. Prizes will be awarded for the best Red Dress.
Team 242 was founded in 2003 in honor of David Browne who died at the age of 24 due to undiagnosed heart disease. Over the past 10 years, Team 242 has biked, ran, and participated in various (mis)adventures to raise money and awareness to fight heart disease. In the past 10 years Team 242 has raised nearly $200,000 for the American Heart Association.
