PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: NIKE

This week we are going to take a peek at Nike apparel, and why it is so great for runners. A few points we’ll look at specifically is their Dri-FIT material, flat seams, and reflective taping.

Dri-FIT material is made out of polyester and spandex. These fabrics have moisture wicking properties which move sweat away from your body to help keep your comfortable and dry. These materials also cut down on movement, so you’re less likely to experience chafing.

Flat seams move smoothly against your skin as your run. They also contribute to reducing movement and therefore chafing. Not only can extra movement be painful when it results in chafing, it can be distracting and take away from your running experience.

Reflective taping is important through out the year, but especially in the upcoming months when there is less daylight available and you are more likely to be running before the sun is up, or after it has set. Most athletic apparel will have some kind of reflective taping, so if you forget your blinking lights, you can still be seen by others.
