Inspire is not just a name. Runners in search of guidance can look no further, as this model provides a nice blend of smooth ride, cushioning, and support. This shoe does have a touch more forefoot cushioning than found in the Rider, but with the filled in wave plate, provides a moderately more stable ride. It has a 12 mm heel-to-toe drop and weighs in at 9.7 ounces for men and 8.6 ounces for women.
Like it's neutral cousin, the Wave Rider, the Inspire 11 features a return to a more open and breathable mesh than found on the 10. Supple internal straps hug the foot for a secure, yet comfortable fit and reduce the need for overlays and seams. The raised run-bird logo acts as a nice hug on the arch as well.
The out-sole boasts re-tuned flex grooves and a return to the old plastic of the wave plate itself, bringing back the traditional Mizuno bounce. All around, this shoe has returned to form with this version and will be a nice option for those looking for the cushion of a neutral shoe, but the support their foot craves.
