Blog Post - Community and Fleet Feet Sports

by: Jessica Anderson, Owner Fleet Feet Sports Madison & Sun Prairie

I think a lot about community on my commute from the west to east side of Madison. I have had the opportunity to meet new people in Sun Prairie and the surrounding area, while continuing to make connections and build relationships on the west side. I am fortunate to mix fitness, fun and team building into every day I go to work.

At Fleet Feet Sports we donate most of our time and efforts to race partnerships with non-profits, but we do not always get to meet the people we directly affect. Recently, some of our staff served the family meal at Gilda's Club, a place offering support for those with cancer, as well as their friends and family. Talk about fun - and a great way to work as a team! There are ample volunteer opportunities locally, and some of those are directly related to fitness, but ALL affect our community. Whether it's training with our Force of Orangegroup this spring, while fundraising for Gilda's Club, or coaching Allied Running Club, Girls on the Run or Exercise to Achievement, I encourage you to volunteer just once. It takes a community.  -Jessica
